Compositing

With a pre-lit 60' by 17' green wall, and a 25' by 16' blue wall, the Factory is the place to shoot visual effects. We offer live compositing that allows filmmakers to use pencil comps, static and moving background plates to see their effects in real time, if they like. We support film, HD and legacy formats. Our staff are stage and location savvy, with the confidence that comes with years of effects experience. We built this facility to shoot our own special effects, and have the physical mattes and flying supports for most effects.

Location

Digital Media Factory has chosen the Monterey Bay Area as our base of operations for the unrivaled quality of location choices. Within walking distance to the beach and minutes from some of the finest surfing in the world, we are proud of our Santa Cruz home. With pristine Big Sur coastlines and rolling meadows, rich farmlands and ranches, ancient oak-studded hillsides and magnificent giant redwoods, no other area has such photographic diversity within such close proximity.

Stage

Measuring 75' by 50', with a 17' ceiling, our insert stage is used for feature films, commercials, multi-camera television and photo shoots. While our emphasis is on visual effects and compositing, practical photography using our inventory of window, wall and door flats and stage risers is also done here.
